A modern tale of sex, death & strawberries. This comic deconstruction of Shakespeare's famous play about the Moor of Venice takes a new look at Desdemona, the tragic heroine murdered by her jealous husband when the strawberry-embroidered handkerchief he gave her is seen in the possession of another man. But was Desdemona really the wide-eyed, innocent victim the Bard has led us to believe? You'll never look at "Othello" in quite the same way again, once you've seen what our heroine got up to in the scenes Shakespeare didn't write! The other ladies of the court are also transformed: Amelia into an Irish serving wench - recently promoted from scullery maid to laundress - and Bianca into a sleazy brothel Madam whose unusual relationship to high-born Desdemona is far from classical.
